Endpoint detection and response for every device on the network

Endpoint Detection and Response Solution

One infected PC can freeze sales, service and parts at once. SentinelOne spots ransomware by how it behaves and stops it before it reaches the DMS, and it's the kind of continuous monitoring the FTC Safeguards Rule calls for.

Ransomware Protection That Keeps the Store Open

SentinelOne covers every showroom PC, F&I workstation, service kiosk and server, at every rooftop in your group. One bad click stays on one computer, so a ransomware attempt in the service drive never turns into a store-wide shutdown.

EDR Features

Catches What Antivirus Misses

  • Behavior-based detection for ransomware and credential theft that signature-based antivirus doesn't recognize

  • Replaces traditional antivirus

Contains the Threat

  • Isolates an infected computer from the network automatically

  • Quarantines malicious software or blocks it from installing

  • Lets IT respond in one click, without driving to the store

A Record You Can Hand Over

Regulatory Spotlight

FTC Safeguards Rule: Continuous Monitoring

Under the Safeguards Rule, every computer that touches customer data counts: the F&I workstation holding credit apps, the server running the DMS, the laptop in the sales manager's bag. The Rule requires continuous monitoring of the systems that hold that information, or else annual penetration testing plus vulnerability assessments every six months (FTC guidance).

Use Case: The Parts Invoice

A service advisor is writing up a repair order when an email arrives with what looks like a parts invoice. They open the attachment, which is what you do with an invoice, and it starts installing software nobody asked for.

Without EDR, ransomware can spread from that one PC to the DMS and every store on the network. With SentinelOne, the behavior is caught, the install stops and the machine is cut off the network, so the service drive keeps writing tickets while IT cleans up one computer.

Why It Matters
  • In June 2024, cyberattacks on CDK Global took down systems used by about 15,000 dealership locations, with estimated dealer losses approaching $1 billion (KTVU, July 2024).

  • SentinelOne reported 100% detection in the 2024 MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations: Enterprise, its fifth straight year at 100% (SentinelOne, December 2024).
