KPA Unveils Virtual Reality Safety Training Experience at ISRI Convention & Exposition 2023

Nashville, Tenn. – April 13, 2023 – During the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (IRSI) Convention & Exposition 2023, KPA, a leading provider of Environment, Health, and Safety software and solutions, will be showcasing a new virtual reality safety training experience at Booth 2342. The virtual reality (VR) pilot experience will place users in a heavy industrial work environment where they will be able to explore a worksite, interact with a supervisor and coworker and determine their course of action when presented with hazards.

Virtual Reality Safety Training Experience Solidifies KPA as Industry Training Leader

“At KPA, we wanted to explore how a VR training experience can provide a safe environment that can’t otherwise be recreated in real life, whether it’s a fire or an incident that led to serious injury or fatality,” stated Shawn Smith, KPA Product Director, Training. “VR is still a new technology but as it has become more commonplace and affordable, it presents an incredible opportunity for safety and compliance training that encourages user interaction and experiential learning.”

Developed in-house by KPA’s award-winning training team, the VR safety training experience at the ISRI Convention booth will provide KPA with crucial feedback about market needs and user experience to improve the environment and learning objectives. “VR training is still a fresh new concept for EHS. As an industry leader and with our training team of educators, safety professionals, videographers, and animators, KPA is learning and leading the charge to creating better and more effective training tools for businesses needing to establish and maintain a safe workplace,” commented Smith.

The training team at KPA is made up of over 12 videographers, editors, training content development specialists, animators, and quality assurance managers. KPA safety and compliance training programs are based on real-world scenarios, using interactive elements and testing users’ knowledge of required information. KPA’s online training library of over 1,000 courses has been recognized by Training Industry Inc. as a Top Online Learning Library for five years.

In addition to providing the VR experience, Booth 2342 at the ISRI Convention will feature KPA compliance experts who will be discussing the latest trends in safety and compliance as well as answering questions. It will also feature access to the all-in-one KPA EHS software, a configurable and mobile-friendly solution to help businesses improve safety, lower risk, save money, and create a culture of safety.
