For all the fear, pain, suffering, and death COVID-19 has caused us, it has a glaring weakness: soap and water. The #1 way to avoid spreading the disease is to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Who would have thought that battling a pandemic would be so… pedestrian?
Perhaps it’s no surprise then that cleaning and disinfecting are two pillars of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Reopening America” plan. In guidance released in April, the CDC outlines federal guidance for scrubbing COVID from public spaces, workplaces, businesses, schools, and homes—and soap and water feature prominently in the plan.
