Two KPA Compliance Consultants Honored for Their Achievement & Dedication to Managing Hazardous Materials

Lafayette, Colo. – March 22, 2022 – Last night, two KPA safety and compliance consultants were honored by the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) for their work and commitment to hazardous materials safety. Zach Pucillo, CSP, CHMM, a KPA Environment, Health and Safety District Supervisor, was named Hazardous Materials Professional of the Year. His colleague, Glorianna Corman, REM, CSP, CHMM, a KPA Senior Risk Management Consultant received two awards, the Pete Cook Founder’s Award and the Distinguished Service Recognition Award.

“Glorianna and Zach are two of KPA’s outstanding risk management consultants,” said Mike Tanguay, KPA District Manager. “They both demonstrate extraordinary leadership, as well as an unwavering commitment to their clients and to professional excellence in environment, health and safety.”

Recipients of the Pete Cook Founder’s award must have achieved exceptional accomplishments in the environment, health and safety industry during the last year and promoted AHMP’s strategic plan. Additionally, Distinguished Service Recognition Awardees must have achieved at least seven of 17 criteria, like publishing articles, speaking at events, or serving in leadership roles.

Among her accomplishments last year, Ms. Corman exhibited strong leadership and expertise on a national and local level. She served a second term as President of the Central Ohio Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, the Chair of the Ohio BWC Safety Congress Planning Committee and served as a member of the Grove City Environmental Sustainability Committee, and served as a member appointed by Governor DeWine, of the Ohio EPA Compliance Advisory Panel. She wrote articles that appeared in Automotive News Fixed Ops Journal and Safety + Health Magazine as well as several blogs on KPA’s blog.

“Glorianna is a massive shining star,” said one of Ms. Corman’s clients, Bill Fyffe, Fixed Ops Director of Kelly BMW in Columbus, Ohio. “She’s so many steps ahead in terms of making our dealership a safer and better group overall. She’s proactively sending me information, telling me if we’ve got a problem, and how to fix it; all while being supportive, direct, and making us feel like a special and valued partner.”

Ms. Corman’s colleague, Zach Pucillo, CSP, CHMM, as the recipient of the AHMP Hazardous Materials Professional of the Year, must have exhibited outstanding technical, professional, educational, training, or administrative contributions to the field of Environment, Healthy and Safety during the last year. Awardees must also be over the age of 35 and contributed significantly to promoting AHMP’s strategic initiatives.

In 2021, Mr. Pucillo provided constant educational support to KPA, his team and clients, as well as to the larger EHS industry. He established a regulatory review process within KPA to help educate a team of more than 100 EHS compliance consultants across the United States. His public education efforts included speaking at seven workplace safety webinars and writing several articles about workplace safety issues for publications including, Industrial Safety & Hygiene News, Facility Executive, and Repairer Driven News.

“On behalf of the Ray Skillman Auto Group I would like to say how proud we are of Zach Pucillo,” said Michael “Mac” Glenn, Fixed Operations Director of Ray Skillman Auto Group in Indianapolis, Ind. “I have personally worked with him over the years, and he has been a true asset to our group. His knowledge and level of care is second to none. As we encounter issues throughout the group, Zach is just a phone call away and has all the right answers for our needs. His onsite visits and workshops that he conducts for us are exceptional as well as his reporting and attention to detail. It comes as no surprise that he has won the Hazardous Materials Professional of the Year award.”

Mr. Pucillo and Ms. Corman are among KPA’s team of environment, health, and safety (EHS) risk management consultants who audit workplace conditions and safety programs, conduct on-site EHS compliance training and safety committee meetings, and assist with the management, tracking, and reporting of EHS issues.
